eVisa

Source and verification date are shown in the card below.

Djibouti's immigration directorate issues eVisas through its official portal, evisa.gouv.dj, where the application is open to everyone except holders of diplomatic, service or official passports and those benefiting from a courtesy visa program: a transit visa covers 1 to 14 days and a short-stay visa 15 to 90 days. The portal does not say which nationalities need a visa; the UK, Canadian, Australian and Italian governments say their citizens do, and Djibouti's embassy in Japan says a valid visa and passport are required to enter Djibouti. The portal says no visas will be issued at the airport or any other border point as of May 1, 2018; the UK government says you can buy a tourist visa when you arrive, paid in cash in US dollars.

Passport validity: The eVisa portal asks for a passport valid for at least 6 months.
Return or onward ticket: The eVisa portal says that to apply for an electronic visa you need a flight reservation (or any other possible means of transport), an accommodation address (hotel or at your host's) and an invitation letter. The UK government says you must have evidence of your onward journey.
Vaccinations: The UK government says that to enter Djibouti you must have a certificate to prove you've had a yellow fever vaccination if you're coming from a country listed as a transmission risk.
