Moldova's Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists the nationalities exempted from a visa — among them the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Germany and France — and its Border Police says foreigners may stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Foreign citizens can apply online, through the government portal evisa.gov.md, for short-stay (type C) visas only.
- Passport validity
- Moldova's Border Police says that on the day you enter, your travel document must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the date set for leaving Moldova, must have at least two blank pages and, except for identity cards, must have been issued within the last 10 years.
- Blank passport pages
- At least 2 blank passport pages.
- Travel insurance
- For tourism (C/T), visit (C/V), transport (C/TS), sport (C/S) and cultural, scientific, humanitarian and short medical-treatment (C/AD) visas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asks for travel medical insurance valid throughout Moldova for the whole expected stay, covering medical repatriation, emergency treatment and hospitalisation or death, of not less than €30,000. The eVisa portal lists medical insurance for the stay among the documents an eVisa holder must have at the border.
- Return or onward ticket
- Moldova's Border Police lists a return or round-trip ticket among the documents that justify a tourist or personal trip, together with proof of accommodation, and the entry conditions require proof of adequate means for the stay and for the return or transit. The UK FCDO says British visitors must be able to show a return or onward flight ticket.
