- You need a national long-stay visa (Type D), applied for to the French consular authorities, via France-Visas, before travel: €99, or €50 for students whose application was examined by a Centre pour les études en France. The VLS-TS long-stay visa serves as a residence permit and must be validated within 3 months of arrival in France.
