Visa-free for 90 days

Ecuador's Foreign Ministry lists the countries whose nationals require a visa to enter Ecuador, among them India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cuba, Nigeria, Pakistan, Venezuela and China. Ecuador's Regulation to the Organic Law on Human Mobility says a foreigner who enters Ecuador as a tourist may stay for a maximum of 90 days in a one-year period, and that foreigners from the countries for which Ecuador has established a tourist-visa requirement must apply for the visa at a consular office; the Foreign Ministry's procedure page names those countries as the countries to which Ecuador requires a visa before entry. The UK, Canadian, Australian, French, German, Italian and Polish governments say their citizens can visit without a visa.

Ecuador's Foreign Ministry lists a travel itinerary and outbound and return tickets among the requirements for its 90-day tourist visa. For other arrivals, no official source we could read states that a return or onward ticket is required; the UK government tells British travellers that at border control they may be asked to provide their reason for travel and to show proof of a return or onward journey.

  9. Proof of funds

Ecuador's Foreign Ministry requires tourist-visa applicants to prove lawful means of support under Ministerial Agreement No. 70 of 28 June 2024. No official source we could read states a funds requirement for visitors who do not need a visa.

  10. Vaccinations

Ecuador's Ministry of Public Health said on 28 August 2025 that it had modified the requirement to present a yellow fever vaccination certificate to enter the country from Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil: instead of a mandatory requirement, vaccination becomes a recommendation, especially for travellers heading to jungle areas, at least ten days before travel. WHO's 2022 country list says proof of vaccination against yellow fever is required for travellers aged 1 year or over arriving from Brazil, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, and for travellers who transited for more than 12 hours through an airport of those countries.
