Tajikistan's Consular Department says that from 1 January 2022 the country introduced a unilateral visa-free system allowing citizens of 52 countries to enter and stay for 30 days; its country table lists, among others, the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, Germany and France as visa-free for up to 30 days, and Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia as visa-free indefinitely. Electronic visas are applied for on evisa.tj, with an optional permit to enter GBAO selected on the same form, and visas can also be applied for at a Tajik diplomatic mission or consular post. The UK government tells British nationals they must have a visa and to apply online for an e-visa before travelling.

Tajikistan's Consular Department says that, as a rule, the passport must not expire earlier than 6 months before the visa expires and must have at least 2 blank pages reserved for a visa. The UK FCDO says your passport must have an expiry date at least 6 months after the date you arrive and at least 2 blank pages.
