    No official source we could read describes a digital nomad visa or its requirements. The Italian Embassy in Washington says national visas, for stays over 90 days, are issued for purposes such as elective residency, work, study and family reasons.

    Yes, for self-employed workers. Italy's Consulate General in London lists a digital nomad visa for highly qualified self-employed workers and a separate remote worker visa for employees. It asks for proof of annual income of at least three times the minimum level set for exemption from health-care cost participation (€8,500), suitable lodging, health insurance covering the whole stay and at least six months' relevant work experience, and says processing may take up to 120 days.

    The Bureau of Immigration says all passengers must also fill in the Air Suvidha Self-Declaration Form before reaching the arrival immigration counters. The Air Suvidha portal, run for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, says the form is free, can be filled up to 72 hours before arriving, is mandatory under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and that the registration number is shown at the health desk on landing.
